I’ve lived with a false sense of security all my life. I was raised to believe that bad things don’t happen to good people. My rather optimistic perceptions were shattered though, as several bad things happened to me this year. Never in my entire life would I have thought people could be so apathetic, until I’ve experienced the indifference Filipinos have for each other. You could be walking along the street with a gunshot wound, bleeding to death, and no one would turn a head to help you.
It’s not about poverty, or education, this country’s sick. It’s the kind of sickness where one enjoys the site of someone else’s suffering. I suppose three hundred years of religious brainwashing and discrimination would be enough to corrupt even the most sensible of societies, but ours wasn’t firmly rooted in reason to begin with.
I guess, I’m just tired, as I should be after the ridiculous day I had. I wish I just didn’t have to explain my actions all the time. I wish people would just “get it.”

Yes, I have sold my gaming soul to the devil. I really held off getting one, but that announcement about FF13 coming for the damned thing sealed the deal for me. And installing Bioshock on my laptop with its limited hardfrive space just didn’t make sense anymore. I really hope this thing doesn’t get RROD, I’m not sure if microsoft caters to warranties in third world countries.
I have a long checklist of Rpgs to get for this thing, traditional stuff from mistwalker are interesting, Bioware’s latest epics, Squareenix offshoot series, it’s certainly not like the long RPG droughts of their first system.
I have one problem with it though, the thing is hot. Literally. If I use it for more than 5 hours or so, it’ll probably melt a hole through my media setup tableglass. And that Powerbrick, I’ve heard jokes about it being huge, but wow, when you see it for yourself for the first time, it’s something else. It’s physically bigger than the Wii.
The game I’m really looking forward to getting soon though, is Ninja Gaiden 2. I’ve replayed the first one a few times, through the higher difficulties trying to get all the costumes, there’s really nothing on the market right now that plays quite like it. I’ve finsihed the DS version too.
Ah well, I better get back to my ticking timebomb, Soul Calibur 4’s calling me.

Alright, I don’t know what the deal is, but, why in the holy hell are people eating donuts with knives and forks?! It’s a freakin donut!, you grab it, and bite it! It’s not like it’s a pizza that could get messy if you eat it with your hands, it’s bread, round freakin bread that you can pick up and bite!
It wasn’t even one of those cake-like donuts, it was just the sugar glazed kind, I don’t understand filipinos.

It’s really funny when I hear people talk about how fast their laptops are, then whine why games look like crap when they play on it. But my video card’s 128 mb” they say, it has intel “extreme” graphics, it has core 2 duo, they don’t realize that integrated graphics solutions are never as fast as even the cheapest of dedicated gpu’s. It’s like expecting a PS2 processor to play a PS3 game.
As for the memory tag line, they think, higher memory counts = faster cards, when the truth is, a lot of cheap cards tack on more memory chips the processor of the gpu’s never going to be able to use, because it’s not fast enough to take advantage of those resources. Most of the time they just add more memory, to appeal to the uninitiated who’d think, the number’s higher, so it must be better.
As for the core, most games made nowadays, (unless they’re from a company called crytech) will work on a processor as long as it’s above 2 gig. And pretty much every current cpu made today, is at least that fast. If you pair up a ridiculously fast cpu with a crappy card, the graphics will be crap, but if you pair up an “ok”cpu with a ridiculously fast card, you’ll be playing with kickass graphics.
The cpu just isn’t designed to push polygons, and games are made with polygons. Gpus also have dedicated hardware based shaders, and those additional texture layers are what really make next generation games look good.

It’s been awhile, probably because there were a lot of things to do these past few months. My parents are in China again, my sister is heading to Europe, and I’m left behind here in our large, decaying house. After my grandmother died, the master bedroom’s been empty, so I decided to sleep there instead. It’s roomier, and the roof doesn’t leak. This house is probably going to be demolished sometime next year, along with all our memories. Most of our childhood pictures were destroyed after termites decided to have them for dinner.
There was one other thing that happened this year that I decided to keep mum about, though at least one other blog reader here knows about it. Don’t know if he’s tattled yet, the guy’s pretty quiet, but you never know. I’ll be saving my money from here on out, I have a lot of studying to do next year. Hopefully I can afford the tuition fees. I’ve been paying for everything I need for a few years now, good thing this dreadful job pays well at least. I’ve heard the expenses of the course I decided to study were, umm substantial, so I might actually need help this time.
Later today, I’m going to have to visit a very rich and uneducated man. Seriously we don’t know if he even finished high school. I’m probably not going to get any sleep tomorrow. Hopefully I find him quickly, I doubt it though, because I don’t know my way around the city hall. Well, good luck to me, from what I can see, it’ll take me four more years to achieve my current goals.
