Can I be on my way? September 20, 2008

The traffic situation in this country seems to have gotten better as of late, wherein as before, one spends four hours stuck in an intersection, waiting for the negotiations of the guys in front of you to finish determining whose ass is bigger, now we have a fifty-fifty chance of sitting in traffic for hours for what should be a thirty minute bus ride or nearly meeting death while riding in a dilapidated hulking piece of metal meant to fulfill the driver’s Nascar delusions.
Of course, the second choice’s preferable as I’d like to have enough time to sleep when I get home, so imagine my frustration when I got onto the latter, and wasted my time away while the turtle-neck-chicken-fucker-driver stopped every five yards whilst his idiot smirking colleague screamed at pedestrians asking them why they aren’t getting on his stupid bus. You see, in this country, we don’t have schedules for our busses, we barely have enough traffic enforcers, and when we do have enough traffic guys, the transport unions whine incessantly why they’re being fined for breaking traffic regulations.
So drivers here can pretty much do whatever they want, especially drivers with huge freakin pieces of seven-ton machinery capable of going one hundred miles an hour, that can make puddles of goo out of you and your friends if you happened to be in their way. So, as a public service announcement, to anyone or anybody ever thinking about stepping into Philippine soil, avoid these bus lines at all costs, JMK, and Phil Corinthian. But if you’re a tourist and would like to view the spectacle of typical Filipino irrationality, go right ahead.

I would be proud when filipinos stop infringing on each other’s rights. We have a culture where people regularly scream “that’s mine!” with no real explanations on why their claims can be justified. When a local sees a foreigner, they gawk and suck up to them, when a local sees a countryman back from working in a different country, they call him traitor. Do Americans think ill of other ameircans who live in foreign soil? Do Europeans think less of Americans, themselves immigrants from Europe in the past? Ours is a culture of “if I’m poor, you should be poor too!” without regards to hardwork and effort an individual may have invested to get to where they are. “Redistribution” of wealth is just another word for stealing, where the people who think they should be fed for doing, nothing live off of the backs of the people who go to work everyday and sacrifice having a dozen kids. We make villians out of honest working people, and a society like that doesn’t deserve to survive.
Resignation again? September 7, 2008

I’m usually too lazy to look for work, but it looks like I may be forced to. If I’m going to receive a disciplinary action for simply winging a goddamn cheeseburger on my way to the pantry to turn my computer on so I wouldn’t be late to log in, then this company has really gone insane.
Now the problem is, what other company out there’s going to give me more money than what I earn here?
